Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards
- Inspect key vehicle components including brakes, lights, suspension, exhaust systems, and steering mechanisms
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs or adjustments as needed to pass inspections
- Accurately document inspection results and communicate findings clearly to customers or team members
- Assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks to support the overall vehicle servicing process
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained for optimal performance
- Handle heavy lifting when moving or positioning vehicles or parts safely and efficiently
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle inspection or repair roles
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily duties
- Strong attention to detail with excellent observational skills during inspections
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers or team members
- Valid certification for MOT testing (or willingness to obtain certification if not already held)
- A proactive attitude with the motivation to uphold high standards of vehicle safety and compliance
