Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester and Mechanic to join our expanding garage, we’ve just fitted a brand new class 4 and 7 mot bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and safety standards
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively and safely
- Assist with vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Carry out heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester, with relevant qualifications or certifications recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
- Valid UK driving licence is essential for mobility around the workshop and customer sites
