Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional School Transport Driver to ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, good communication abilities, and a strong commitment to safety. This role offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the community by providing dependable transport services for young learners. The position involves operating school buses or similar vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations, and maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanour with students and staff.
The job role is Part-time term time only with a 15hrs minimum contract
All hours over 15hrs a week are paid at £14.50 an hour.
Salary of £8265 based on 38 weeks a year at £12.85 per hour
Responsibilities
- Safely operate cars or 8 seater minibuses along scheduled routes, ensuring punctuality and safety at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking, fuel levels, tyres, lights, and brakes.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing seat belt use and adhering to traffic laws and school policies.
- Assist students boarding and alighting from the vehicle, providing support as needed for young or disabled pupils.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents during transit.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and colleagues regarding route changes or student concerns.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning the vehicle interior and reporting any mechanical issues promptly for repairs.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a secure environment for passengers and staff.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery driving roles with a clean driving licence.
- Strong communication skills in English to interact confidently with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to school transportation.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.

You will be required to gain a West Lindsey Taxi Drivers Badge which will include an Enhanced DBS Check and a Drivers Medical, The cost will be covered by the Company.
Due to insurance and licencing regulations applicants must be over 21yrs old and held a driving licence for minimum of 2 years with no more than 6 points.
Pay: £12.85 per hour
