A leading global manufacturer of analytical laboratory instrumentation is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding UK Service Team.

Initially, you'll specialise in HPLC systems, carrying out installation, preventative maintenance, servicing and fault finding. As your experience develops, you'll receive full training on more advanced technologies including LCMS, Preparative LC, SFC and MALDI systems.
You'll be supporting customers across pharmaceutical manufacturers, universities, research laboratories and industrial laboratories throughout the Midlands and Southern England.
Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join the Analytical Instrumentation division, supporting customers across the Southern region of England.
You will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, servicing, validation and repair of advanced analytical laboratory instrumentation. This role offers a varied workload, comprehensive manufacturer training and the opportunity to work with market-leading chromatography and mass spectrometry technology.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on HPLC and analytical instrumentation.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and electronic faults.
- Install, commission and validate new laboratory systems.
- Perform IQ/OQ/PQ validation where required.
- Provide customer training following installations.
- Deliver technical support and troubleshooting on customer sites.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation using SAP.
- Manage your own regional territory whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Support the wider engineering team when required.
- Travel across the South of England with occasional UK-wide travel and overseas training.
Person Specification
- Essential: Previous hands-on experience with HPLC instrumentation (service, maintenance, troubleshooting or laboratory use).
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Laboratory Engineer, Analytical Scientist or Laboratory Technician working with HPLC systems.
- Experience servicing or supporting HPLC, UPLC, LC or LCMS instrumentation is highly desirable.
- Strong maintenance, troubleshooting and fault-finding skills on complex analytical instrumentation.
- Experience working within GLP/GMP laboratory environments is advantageous.
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage a regional territory.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence and valid passport.
- Flexible to travel throughout the territory with occasional UK-wide travel.

- £35,000 - £45,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
