Nursery Manager
We are looking for an experienced Deputy or Manager to lead our small Nursery based within the grounds of Wymondham College. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic childcare professional to lead our nursery and support a dedicated team in providing high quality care and early years education.
About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery, ensuring children receive the highest standard of care in a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment.
You will:
- Lead, support and motivate the nursery team
- Ensure the nursery meets EYFS and Ofsted requirements
- Oversee the planning and delivery of suitable and engaging activities
- Ensure children's development and progress are monitored and recorded effectively
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers
- Ensure children's individual needs are identified and supported
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing
- Manage staff deployment and rotas to meet the needs of the nursery
- Support staff induction, supervision and ongoing development
- Maintain accurate records and ensure nursery policies and procedures are followed
- Work closely with colleagues and the wider school community
- Take an active role in the ongoing development of the nursery
- Collaborate with the internal Finance department to assist with EYFS funding processes

Essential Requirements
- A recognised childcare qualification, Level 3 or above and a Level 2 Maths qualification
- Previous experience working in an early years or childcare setting
- Previous leadership or management experience within an early years environment
- Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience with County Council funding is preferable but not essential
Working Conditions
Our nursery operates for 49.8 weeks per year and is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. This is a full-time position and contracted hours are 37 ½. Salary according to experience and qualifications and including 28 days paid holiday per year.
Flexibility is required to work within a variable rota to meet the needs of the nursery throughout the year.
