We’re hiring for a Data Analytics Engineer to join a growing MI, Data & Analytics function within a large UK organisation delivering critical services nationwide. This Data Analytics Engineer opportunity offers a genuine blend of business intelligence development and data engineering.
The Role
This is a hybrid position suited to someone who enjoys building impactful reporting solutions while also shaping the data infrastructure behind them. You’ll work with stakeholders across multiple business functions to deliver scalable reporting, trusted analytics, and actionable insights.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
- Build intuitive visualisations that support operational and strategic decision-making
- Develop DAX calculations and optimise report performance
- Create and maintain SQL-based data pipelines for reporting and analytics
- Transform, model and structure data for scalable business intelligence solutions
- Ensure data quality, governance, consistency, and reporting accuracy
- Define and maintain data lineage and reporting standards
- Work with stakeholders across Finance, HR, Operations, and wider business teams
- Support data interpretation and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this Data Analytics Engineer role, you should have:
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience with Power BI dashboard/report development
- Advanced SQL / SQL Server skills
- Experience in data modelling and data transformation
- Previous experience in a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role
- Ability to work across both front-end reporting and back-end data engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar cloud data platforms
- ETL tooling experience
- API integration experience
- Python or automation scripting knowledge
- Understanding of data governance / data quality frameworks
- Experience working with complex or regulated datasets
