Business Development Manager (Retail Expansion)
The Phone Lads is a growing mobile phone repair and accessories business based in central London, specialising in mobile, tablet and laptop repairs, accessories, smart devices and electronic products. The business operates from Fleet Street and is focused on expanding its commercial partnerships and customer base.
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Business Development Manager with excellent communication and relationship-building skills to support the continued growth and expansion of The Phone Lads.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and eager to learn, with strong negotiation, networking, and problem-solving abilities. Full training and support will be provided in areas relating to site acquisition, retail expansion, and business growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the strategic growth and expansion of The Phone Lads across existing and new markets.
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase the company's presence through new locations, partnerships, commercial opportunities, and community engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, commercial property agents, local businesses, landlords, and key stakeholders.
- Research and assess potential locations, markets, and business opportunities to support expansion plans.
- Assist with negotiations and discussions relating to prospective retail sites and commercial partnerships.
- Develop and maintain partnerships that strengthen brand awareness and contribute to business growth.
- Work closely with senior management to implement business development and expansion strategies.
- Identify opportunities to increase customer reach and footfall.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the industry.
- Support the planning and coordination of new store openings, launches, and growth initiatives.
- Prepare business proposals, reports, and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders involved in business growth and expansion projects.
- Undertake a broad range of business development activities that contribute to the long-term success and growth of the company.
Experience
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively
- Demonstrable ability to develop strategic plans that lead to measurable results
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
