Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager - Transportation Infrastructure to take day-to-day responsibility for delivering transportation infrastructure projects across Bristol. You will oversee site operations, drive programme performance, and ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality, and efficiency across highways and associated works.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily site operations, including supervision of Foremen, Engineers, plant, and labour

Coordinate delivery of transportation infrastructure works, including highways, roads, drainage, and associated utilities

Ensure all risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), briefings, and toolbox talks are carried out effectively

Drive programme delivery by planning and coordinating resources, plant, and materials to meet key milestones

Maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, representing the business professionally on site

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, particularly within live or public-facing environments

Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with programme, safety, and quality expectations

Monitor site progress and maintain accurate records, reports, and site documentation

Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and logistical challenges associated with transportation and traffic-sensitive projects

Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 1–3 months
Requirements

CITB SMSTS (5-Day)
-
First Aid at Work certification
-
Proven experience as a Site Manager within transportation infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects

Strong knowledge of highways works, drainage, traffic management, and public realm delivery

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
-
Experience working in live environments with traffic and public interface considerations
-
Reliable, proactive, and solution-focused approach

CSCS Black Manager Card
-
NRSWA (Street Works) qualification

Experience managing multiple sites or phased highway/infrastructure projects
