As a Kitchen porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the kitchen team in various tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Washing and Cleaning: Ensure all kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment are cleaned to a high standard and ready for use.
- Maintaining Hygiene: Keep the kitchen area clean, including floors, work surfaces and waste disposal units.
- Assisting the team: Help Chefs and Kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as required.
- Stock Management: Assist with the storage and organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Waste Management: Ensure that all kitchen waste is properly managed, including recycling and food waste.
- Health & Safety compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Experience: previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- Skills: Ability to work in a fast paced environment, attention to details and strong organisational skills
- Attitude: A positive, can do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Team Player: Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
