An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and inspirational senior leader to join She field Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Director of Quality and Safety.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing , Professions and Quality, the post holder will provide strategic leadership across patient safety, learning from deaths, safeguarding, patient experience, complaints and PALS, clinical governance, CQC compliance and regulatory assurance.
This is a pivotal leadership role providing expert advice to the Trust Board and Executive Team, ensuring the organisation delivers safe, effective and high-quality services and maintains robust assurance regarding quality and safety.
We are seeking a highly credible leader with substantial NHS experience, strong strategic capability, exceptional influencing skills and a demonstrable track record of improving quality and safety outcomes.
The Deputy Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for providing strategic leadership, professional expertise and operational oversight across the Trust’s quality governance and patient safety agenda.
The post holder will ensure effective governance systems are in place to provide assurance regarding patient safety, safeguarding, learning from deaths, patient experience, complaints management, clinical governance and regulatory compliance.

Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the Trust-wide quality and safety agenda.
- Advise the Board and Executive Team on quality and safety risks.
- Deputise for the Director of Nursing , Professions and Quality.
Patient Safety:
- Senior leadership for PSIRF.
- Oversight of incident investigations, Duty of Candour and organisational learning.
- Monitoring of patient safety risks and trends.
Learning from Deaths:
- Senior leadership of mortality governance.
- Oversight of reviews of unexpected deaths, suicides and deaths requiring further scrutiny.
- Assurance regarding learning and implementation of actions.
Safeguarding:
- Senior Management lead for safeguarding adults and children.
- Oversight of safeguarding reviews, training and governance.
Patient Experience:
- Strategic leadership for patient engagement and co-production.
- Oversight of patient feedback and experience intelligence.
Complaints and PALS:
- Oversight of complaints handling and learning.
- Assurance of compliance with NHS complaints regulations.
Clinical Governance:
- Leadership of governance frameworks, committee structures and board assurance systems.
- Oversight of governance reporting and policy management.
CQC Compliance and Regulatory Assurance:
- Lead inspection readiness.
- Coordinate responses to inspections and external reviews.
- Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Suicide Prevention and Coroner Assurance:
- Lead Trust suicide prevention arrangements.
- Monitor Prevention of Future Death actions and inquest learning.
