About the Role
Lew’s Coffee Shop is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic team member to join us on Saturdays at our busy Llandaff North & Gabalfa site.
Saturdays are lively, so we’re looking for someone who is confident, proactive and happy to get stuck in. You don’t need years of café experience, what matters to us is having the right attitude, taking pride in your work, and being someone who can see what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked.
This would suit someone already living in Cardiff, or someone moving here for university and looking for regular weekend work in a friendly, community-focused coffee shop.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Making coffee, teas and other drinks to our standards
- Providing friendly, welcoming service to our customers
- Getting to know and look after our regular customers
- Keeping the café clean, tidy and presentable throughout the day
- Helping with washing up, clearing tables, stock and general café jobs
- Keeping yourself busy during quieter periods and looking for things that need doing
- Working as part of the team to keep busy Saturday shifts running smoothly
- Taking responsibility for your area and helping out wherever needed
What We’re Looking For
Experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential. We can teach you how we do things - what we can’t teach is a good work ethic.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative and doesn't need to be constantly told what to do
- Is willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed
- Takes responsibility for their work and their surroundings
- Is friendly, approachable and enjoys talking to customers
- Can stay calm and productive when things get busy
- Is reliable, punctual and dependable
- Works well as part of a team
- Takes pride in keeping the café clean, organised and welcoming
- Is willing to learn and take feedback on board
If you’re the sort of person who notices that the bins need emptying, the tables need clearing, the milk needs restocking or the dishwasher needs loading, and just gets on with it, you’ll probably fit in very well here.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £10.00-£12.75 per hour
