Job Summary
Due to continued growth, DAW Signs & Fit-Outs is seeking a reliable and professional Van Driver to join our team on an ad hoc, zero-hours basis.
This role will involve driving company vehicles to deliver and collect materials, signage, joinery, equipment and finished goods to and from project sites across the UK and Ireland. You will be responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed safely, on time and in good condition, while providing a professional service when representing DAW on site.
Work will be offered as and when required, depending on project and delivery schedules, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking for flexible or additional driving work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company vans to and from project sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Transport signage, joinery, materials, tools, equipment and finished goods safely and securely.
- Load and unload the vehicle safely, ensuring all items are properly secured for transit.
- Complete deliveries and collections in accordance with project and delivery schedules.
- Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness and general condition of the company vehicle.
- Complete delivery paperwork and provide any required proof of delivery.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site teams and DAW colleagues when making deliveries.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of materials at site where required.
- Be prepared to travel and work away from home when required, including occasional overnight stays.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and driving regulations.
- Represent DAW Signs & Fit-Outs professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence with Category B entitlement.
- Previous professional driving or delivery experience is required.
- Experience driving a van and transporting goods safely and securely.
- Good knowledge of UK roads and confident using navigation systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Flexibility to undertake work on an ad hoc basis, depending on business requirements.
- Willingness to undertake occasional overnight stays when required.
- Physically fit and able to load and unload materials safely.
- Reliable, punctual and professional with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Able to work independently and manage delivery schedules responsibly.

Working Hours
This is an ad hoc, zero-hours position, with work offered as and when required based on our project and delivery schedules. There are no guaranteed hours, and working days and hours will vary depending on business requirements.
The role will involve travel throughout the UK and Ireland, with occasional overnight stays required.
Salary
Rate of pay negotiable depending on experience.
