We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at Otis Van and Truck Hire, you will be out on the road, delivering and collecting vehicles on behalf of the company. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail along with being able to , provide a high level of customer service while delivering and collecting a wide variety of vehicles to our customers across the country.
Our Drivers play an integral part in the success of our business as they are quite often the first and last point of contact for our customers. The applicant will be required to maintain paperwork (delivery / collection notes) and daily checks on vehicles (e.g., bulbs, oil, fuel etc).
Key Activities
· Drive all vehicles as instructed by the Company (other than those vehicles which you are prohibited from driving by law).
· Assist with all tasks in relation to the Company premises and vehicles including, without limitation moving of trucks and starting of vehicles.
· Inspect and complete reports on the condition of vehicles that are brought on to the company’s premises.
· Have a good eye for detail, when completing paperwork for vehicles being delivered to and collected from customers.
· Undertake any other tasks required to be completed in accordance with the instructions of your supervisors.
· Maintain a professional appearance and manner with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, reporting current matters to your supervisor and the directors as required.
· Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
· Identify and report any damage and defects which you notice while undertaking your daily tasks.
· Travelling around the UK.
· Drivers will be asked to use other methods of transport (trains, taxis, buses) to complete work given on occasion.
In keeping with accepted principles of good working practice, you may be required to undertake additional or alternative duties.
Skill requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- HGV Class 2 licence
- Holds a CPC & Tacho card.
- To be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ambitious, organised and driven.
- The ability to build relationships with customers.
- Willing to work a variety of hours
