Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. This role involves supervising care staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive personalised attention and support.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support and medication administration.
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting their mental well-being.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to senior care and leadership.
Experience
- Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential, preferably within a care home environment.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining care records and documentation.
