Experienced/Senior CAD Designer

Based close to the M23 they are currently recruiting for an experienced designer to join their small technical design team
Job Role:
To work collaboratively and independently within the design team to deliver accurate and commercially competitive designs. Work with our estimating team to interpret customer’s briefs and produce accurate manufacturing drawings. Coordinate the ideas of our sales team, project managers, manufacturing department with your own ideas and research. Once drawings are approved, you will produce CNC programmes for our in-house factory where all products are manufactured.
Essential skills required:
- 5+ years CAD design experience.
- Excellent written & spoken English & good communication skills
- Furniture design experience demonstrating the ability to produce accurate, detailed production drawings & see these through to manufacture.
- Knowledge & understanding of fitted furniture
- Experience reading & interpreting architectural layout drawings
- Work well on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Experience working within tight deadlines whilst accurately delivering the design briefs.
- Managing the designs for multiple projects across the whole project cycle.
- Able to communicate effectively with all company personnel, from our estimators to our site fitters.
- A proactive and creative thinker.
- Ability to follow internal design processes and guides.
- Competent in 2D AutoCAD
- Competent in Microsoft Excel
Desirable skills:
- Bespoke Contract furniture experience; understanding of furniture production methods and materials.
- Experience producing CNC cut lists
- Furniture design qualifications.
- Design for Manufacturing experience.
- Experience using Cabinet Vision or Sketchup
