We’re on the hunt for SIA‑licensed Door Supervisors to work in bars and nightclubs in Aberdeen City centre, who can balance authority with charm, stay calm when others don’t, and politely tell people “no” in a way that somehow still sounds friendly.
If you can keep a venue safe, handle incidents with diplomacy, and greet customers like you haven’t already said “ID please” 400 times that night, you might be exactly who we need.
Your Mission (should you choose to accept it)
- Welcome guests and manage admissions like the gatekeeper of a very well‑behaved kingdom
- Conduct bag checks without making it awkward
- Stand visibly enough to deter trouble, but not so still that people think you’re a statue
- Respond quickly to incidents, emergencies, and questionable life choices
- Provide top‑tier customer service (yes, even at 01:45am)
- Work as part of a team that actually communicates
- Administer first aid when required — bonus points if you can do it without becoming the star of someone’s Snapchat story
What You’ll Need to Bring
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (no licence, no job — we’re strict like that)
- Experience in door supervision or similar security work
- Knowledge of security protocols and Scottish licensing law
- The ability to stay calm when everyone else is… not
- Strong communication skills (verbal, non‑verbal, and the classic universal “don’t even try it” look)
- First Aid certification
- A sense of humour and zero ego — if you take yourself too seriously, the job (and the customers) will break you before we do
The Non‑Negotiables
- You must live in Aberdeen, this is in the north east of Scotland, it isn’t a borough of London, there isn’t a closest Tube station, and please don’t apply if you live in the South of England but will relocate if you are successful, no, just no!
- You must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
- You must know the difference between a door supervisor and a security guard. If you put on your CV that you have been a door supervisor in Tesco, Asda or Mothercare the absolute best you can hope to get from this application is a sarcastic rejection
- You must live in Aberdeen, so important it’s worth mentioning twice!
If you don’t meet these criteria, your application will be automatically rejected faster than someone trying to sneak in with their sibling’s driver’s licence!
