An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Hygiene Operative / Van Assistant to join the team at our Welwyn Garden City site.
Job Purpose:
To assist the Warehouse Manager and teams in maintaining a consistent high level of service and cleanliness and work within regulations for all daily tasks and deep clean processes.
Hygiene:
- Assist the hygiene team in maintaining a high standard of hygiene in all areas at all times.
- Adhere to hygiene procedures at all times.
- Correctly carry out hygiene procedures in accordance with COSHH regulations and company procedures.
- Monitor the hygiene process and immediately notify the team leader of any issues arising.
- Remove and correctly dispose of waste from the warehouse areas and office areas.
- Maintain levels of consumables such as soap, toilet roll, hand towels etc. in all areas where required.
- Maintain PPE and assist in distribution and collection of overcoats and shoes for factory employees.
- Respect and honour the sentiment of the Cranswick ethical policies and codes of conduct, when inter-acting with your colleagues at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring all areas are clean and tidy at all times to schedule provided
Van Assistant:
Assist a Katsouris Driver on a multi-drop delivery round occasionally when required.
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
- Group and site Induction Training, given prior to any work undertaken in the factory including basic health and safety training.
- Basic Food Hygiene
- Level 2 H&S awareness i.e. Manual Handling, Risks and Responsibilities, Slips and Trips.
- Basic Safe Handling of Detergents and Disinfectants (COSHH training).
- Understanding of relevant risk assessments and trained as competent to safe working procedures.
- Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
- Comply with the company food safety and hygiene policies and procedures at ALL times.
- Correctly store cleaning chemicals within specified areas of the factory and/or warehouse.
- Meet the daily hygiene requirements without compromising on food safety, hygiene, quality and legality
Key Skills:
- Good understanding of English, both written and verbal
- Able to communicate effectively with management and colleagues
- Able to work quickly and methodically and maintain a high level of concentration at all times
- Able to follow instruction and show initiative where needed
- Good team player
- Quick Learner
- Flexible and positive attitude towards work and good time keeping
- Physically fit to carry out duties involving lifting, carrying, twisting, bending, stretching, reaching etc.
