Job Details
Salary: SCP Grade 5-7 (depending on experience) £26,403 - £32,061 pro rata depending on hours
Contract Type: Fixed term for 1 year
Working Pattern: 25 hours a week pattern to be agreed with the successful applicant
Location: Sheddingdean school, Burgess Hill
Interviews: 19th or 20th August 2026
What You Need to Succeed
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced individual with a strong background in pastoral care.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working in a pastoral role within a school or similar setting
- A deep understanding of trauma-informed practices
- A therapeutic approach to behaviour that supports the emotional and social development of all children
- A commitment to inclusion and the ability to work effectively with pupils and families from a wide range of backgrounds and needs
- Experience working with families in order to remove barriers to attendance
