Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paint Prepper and Refinisher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, refinishing vehicles or equipment with precision, and ensuring a high-quality finish. Your expertise in surface preparation, use of hand and power tools, and understanding of mechanical systems will be essential to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools and power tools to strip old paint, smooth surfaces, and make necessary repairs before refinishing
- Apply paint, stains, or coatings with skill and precision using spray guns or brushes according to project specifications
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials, equipment, or parts safely to support the refinishing process
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, making touch-ups or corrections as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored after use
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with workplace standards
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand equipment components and surface preparation techniques
- Experience using hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, brushes, and masking tools
- Proficiency with power tools including spray guns, grinders, drills, and sanders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of daily tasks involving materials or equipment handling
- Prior experience in surface prep or refinishing work is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
