The Role
The Senior Delivery Project Manager will be the lead person within TFW for the management and delivery of Station Improvements projects across the Wales and Borders and Core Valley Lines network. Responsible for managing all aspects on a programme and project level with the core elements from scoping through to tender award, work completion and handover. The Senior Delivery Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for several programmes/projects within their direct team.
The post holder will be responsible for projects across the whole of the WCB network and CVL network.
The post holder will be responsible for line management and development of Delivery Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Support Officer. Influencing, motivating and manage project teams across the organisation, including working with support functions and Business Partners.
They will be responsible and accountable for planning and driving completion of all project deliverables including the business case, regulatory requirements, project roadmap, budget, implementation and handover into business as usual
Role responsibilities
- Accountable for managing the programme of assigned infrastructure projects and project lifecycle and budget in line with the Project Management Office (PMO) and governance across the Wales and Borders network and Core Valley Lines network as required, achieving appropriate governance and transparency for the programme. Ensuring all comprehensive project documents are in place and maintained throughout all stages of the project life cycle.
- Liaising with multiple members of senior management and external parties.
- Plan and drive completion of all project deliverables including the business case, safety validation, regulatory requirements, project roadmap, budget, implementation, and handover into business as usual.
- Ensure that the projects are delivered within agreed parameters (scope/specification, safety, timescale, cost and quality). Represent the best interest of TfW in respect of the evaluation, development and planning for the impact of the Infrastructure Improvement Programme upon TfW
Who we're looking for
- Thorough knowledge of project management
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
- Understanding of political and commercial
- Effective communicator with good verbal and written skills.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
