As a Band 6 Clinical Sister, You are responsible for leading shifts, ensuring safe and effective patient care, supporting and developing staff, maintaining high clinical standards, and working with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent outcomes for older patients.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Provide clinical leadership and coordinate the daily running of the ward.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex needs.
Lead and manage staff during shifts, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
Support the Ward Manager with workforce matters including staffing levels, sickness management, appraisals, and complaints.
Promote patient safety, clinical governance, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
Act as a mentor and support staff development, supervision, competency assessment, and appraisal processes.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate patient records and utilise electronic systems effectively.
Ensure compliance with Trust policies, health and safety requirements, and professional standards.
Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the ward and Trust.

The Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse is a senior nurse and shift leader responsible for providing clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, and supporting the daily management of an 11 bedded unit alongside an Acute Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service . The post holder leads and coordinates shifts, manages a team of nursing staff, undertakes complex clinical assessments, and supports the Ward Manager in maintaining patient safety, quality standards, and ward performance. Responsibilities include workforce management, staff supervision, appraisals, education and mentorship, clinical governance, infection prevention, discharge planning, multidisciplinary working, complaint management, and continuous service improvement.
