Sales Consultant - Travel & Hiking

We are looking for a Itinerary Consultant (Sales) to help our guests / customers find, plan and book the inn to inn hiking holiday of a lifetime. Our guests travel from all over the world to hike in, and experience, the countryside of South West England.
The role will involve communicating (mostly writing) to build a rapport with prospective guests / customers. Starting with enquiry handling; helping guests with questions & information and sharing advice, tips and excitement. Having understood the guests wishes you will then plan, create and write detailed itineraries for their trip. You will also book and arrange accommodation, and maintain records & activity on our CRM / booking system.
There’s a lot to learn and initially you will shadow the co-founder. Learning will involve delving into our sales philosophy to understand our way of selling, developing a knowledge of hiking & south west England, a knowledge of Foot Trails trips, and using our IT, systems and processes.
Learning will be your route towards being a Senior Trail Consultant responsible for your own guests / customers, and with sales targets to achieve.
Suitable candidates will be able to show an interest for hiking and walking England's countryside, together with a passion for people and giving good service. You will be able to demonstrate strong writing skills (communication), an open and enquiring mind / willingness to learn and attention to detail. You will also be competent with IT (we are a cloud based & online business) and confident on the phone. Previous experience in customer service preferred.
* £28 - £35K + team hiking days + stays away at our partner inns.
This is a full time position, 5 days a week Monday to Friday, with 1 weekend in 4 (2 days off in the week when working weekend). You will also need to be flexible and help our guests at mutually agreed convenient times in their local time zone. The role is based at our offices in Frome, Somerset. Some travel across South West England will be required.
