We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Fellow in Reproductive Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team at Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine (BCRM).
This is an exciting opportunity for a doctor with substantial experience in fertility and reproductive medicine to support patients throughout their fertility journey - from initial consultation and investigation through treatment planning, assisted conception procedures and early pregnancy care.
Working closely with our Medical Director and wider multidisciplinary team, you will play an integral role in delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based and individualised fertility care, while contributing to the continued development of our service.
The role
As our Clinical Fellow, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking new and follow-up fertility consultations, assessment and investigation.
- Developing individualised treatment plans and managing IVF and ICSI treatment pathways.
- Prescribing and managing ovarian stimulation protocols and making appropriate in-cycle treatment decisions.
- Undertaking fertility ultrasound scanning, including follicular monitoring and early pregnancy scanning.
- Independently performing oocyte retrieval/egg collection.
- Independently performing embryo transfer.
- Participating in the weekend clinical rota and providing on-call medical cover as required.
- Recognising and managing OHSS and other complications associated with fertility treatment.
- Supporting patients across donor conception, fertility preservation and other reproductive medicine pathways.
- Contributing to the assessment and management of male-factor fertility, recurrent miscarriage and PGT pathways.
- Providing clear, compassionate and evidence-based information to support patients in making informed decisions about their care.
- Working collaboratively with our medical, nursing, midwifery, embryology, counselling and wider clinical teams.
- Contributing to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and the continued development of our service.
About you
You will be an experienced doctor with substantial clinical experience in fertility and reproductive medicine who is confident working autonomously within an agreed scope of practice. You will already be independently competent in both oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer and will bring strong experience across fertility consultations, treatment planning, ultrasound scanning and assisted conception pathways.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A primary medical qualification recognised by the General Medical Council.
- Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise.
- Registrar-level or equivalent training and experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- MRCOG or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Evidence of having worked at a senior clinical level within an IVF/fertility service.
- Experience of prescribing and managing ovarian stimulation and treatment monitoring.
- Competence in fertility ultrasound scanning and follicular monitoring.
- Demonstrable independent competence and experience in oocyte retrieval/egg collection.
- Demonstrable independent competence and experience in embryo transfer.
- Experience of early pregnancy assessment and ultrasound scanning.
- Knowledge and experience of recognising and managing complications associated with fertility treatment, including OHSS.
- Excellent clinical decision-making, communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
· Independent competence in both oocyte retrieval/egg collection and embryo transfer is an essential requirement for this role.
· Specialist or subspecialty training in reproductive medicine, a higher degree, a scientific publication record and previous experience within an HFEA-licensed fertility centre would be advantageous.

Working with us
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The normal weekday working pattern is Monday to Friday, normally across five 8-hour days. The role also includes participation in the weekend clinical rota and provision of on-call medical cover as required by the service. Some flexibility in working arrangements will therefore be required to meet patient and service needs. Contracted hours include appropriate time for clinical administration, documentation, multidisciplinary working and other professional responsibilities.
Salary: £80,000 per annum
