Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager specialising in roofing to oversee and coordinate all aspects of roofing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple roofing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Lead and manage teams of roofers, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Develop detailed project plans using Microsoft Project, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favourable terms while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate daily operations on-site, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor project progress through regular site inspections and meetings; adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Maintain organised documentation of project activities using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and specialised construction management software.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to provide updates on project status and resolve any issues promptly.
- Manage budgets, procurement processes, and resource scheduling efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with legal requirements and company policies; promote a culture of safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on roofing or similar trades.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project management tools.
- Effective negotiation skills to secure favourable contracts and manage client relationships.
- Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations within the construction industry.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members.
- Demonstrable experience in project management including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Valid driving licence is essential for site visits across various locations.
- Construction experience is highly desirable; IT literacy is required for efficient project coordination.
