Full-Time, Permanent (Subject to Successful Probationary Period)
JPS Grounds Maintenance Ltd is a growing commercial grounds maintenance company delivering high-quality services across Derby and the surrounding counties. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is suited to someone with a strong background in commercial grounds maintenance who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and can represent the company professionally on client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on machinery
- Hedge cutting and shrub maintenance
- Strimming and edging
- Weed control and site tidying
- Litter picking and general grounds maintenance
- Seasonal planting and watering where required
- Operating a range of grounds maintenance machinery safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Driving company vehicles between sites
- Reporting site issues, defects and completed works to the Operations Team
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and customer service at all times
Essential Requirements
- Full Clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience operating commercial grounds maintenance machinery, including ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers and blowers
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
Desirable Qualifications/Requirements
- PA1 & PA6 Pesticide Application Certificates
- Trailer towing entitlement
- LANTRA or NPTC qualifications
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience working on commercial contracts, business parks, housing developments or public sector sites
- Commercial grounds maintenance experience
- Good plant identification and horticultural knowledge
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday ( Saturday work may be required)
- Flexibility may be required to meet operational requirements
