The Bull Berkhamsted is a small high street gastro-pub which provides great service and very well regarded food to locals and out of town goers alike.
We run a fresh and seasonal a la carte menu, a lunch time menu for mid week deals and a Sunday lunch menu. Our roasts are considered one of the best in the historic market town of Berkhamsted so standards need to stay high.
The BOH team is small consisting of only a Head Chef (myself) a Sous, Junior Sous, and two KPs. The kitchen is also small, but well equipped with a separate dessert section.
Due to a small kitchen team I love being about to talk menus with all my staff to work out what’s best and what's right for the business. This gives everyone the freedom to create and have fun with dishes they want for specials.
I am looking for a hard working individual who genuinely has a passion for food, mainly in the art of desserts with some good skill within the area.
Pay rates are negotiable with age, prior experience and skill all taken into consideration.
We have a tips system which averages an extra 2-3£ per hour. The more you work the more tips you’re entitled too!
A 0 hour contract with weekly posted rotas. Kitchen notice periods of 1 month. Holiday pay available due to hours accrue.
Looking for roughly 25-30hours a week semi part time.
Key responsibilities:
-Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen style with attentiveness to cookery.
-Assisting in line cooking with either Chef or Sous to a high standard.
- Preparing food to a high standard ready for service.
-Good timekeeping and promptness.
Skills:
- a good practise of knife skills and working with kitchen equipment
- cleanliness may not sound like a skill, but for me it is important you can keep a good clean working environment.
