We are seeking care assistants to join our compassionate team of carers at Rylands Nursing Home. We are a care home who prides ourselves on delivering excellent care to our valued residents.
Minimum 35.25 hours per week permanent.
Age 18 to 20: Rate of pay £12.42 per hour
Age 21 and over: Rate of pay £13.23 per hour
You will work on a rota basis. Day shifts and night shifts are available.
Responsibilities:
- Help residents to eat and drink.
- Help residents to access and use the toilet facilities.
- Help residents to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
- Help residents to be comfortable.
- Help residents to mobilise as planned.
- All residents to be communicated with in an appropriate manner.
- Support residents when distressed.
- Any adverse effects or progress made by the patient will be reported accurately to the appropriate team member.
- Residents will be supported and encouraged to contribute to their own care within their own limits of ability, maximising self-respect and dignity and consistent with their own care plan.
- Promote, monitor and maintain cleanliness in the workplace.
- Transmit, store and retrieve information.
- Support residents in transfer between care environments.
- Contribute to maintaining the supply of materials and equipment.
- Develop and promote effective communication and relationships.
- Adhere to Rylands Nursing Home guidelines and protocols.
- Demonstrate responsibility for self-development through a Personal Development plan.
- Complete elearning as part of essential training.
- Attend face to face training sessions.
All actions undertaken will be consistent with the patient’s multi –disciplinary plan of care, including all correct moving and handling procedures.
Care will be carried out under the supervision / direction of a registered nurse.
