Frank's Old Catton Café is an independent café in the heart of Old Catton. We're passionate about serving great café food, freshly baked goods, great coffee, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every customer. Our café has built a fantastic reputation for quality, friendly service, and being a place where the local community loves to gather.
We're now looking for an enthusiastic, experienced General Manager to lead our team and help take Frank's to the next level.
The Role
As General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring every customer enjoys an outstanding experience while leading and motivating a happy, high-performing team.
You'll have the confidence to take ownership of the business, maintain our high standards, and drive continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and support the café team.
- Deliver exceptional customer service every day.
- Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth service.
- Manage staff rotas, recruitment, training and performance.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Control labour and food costs to maximise profitability.
- Ensure our fresh bakes and café food are presented to the highest standard.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and positively.
- Work closely with the owners to develop new ideas, promotions and business growth.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience managing a café, coffee shop or hospitality venue.
- A hands-on leader who enjoys working alongside the team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable customer experiences.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and drive sales.
- Food Hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A positive, energetic attitude and genuine love of great food and coffee.
