Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Barista and Cafe Cook to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and culinary arts, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of hot drinks and food menu items according to specified recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to management
- Serve food efficiently during busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
- Support team members as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a café or restaurant setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities during busy service times
- Previous experience in serving customers is advantageous but not essential
- Enthusiasm for creating quality dishes and providing excellent service
