Our children’s services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children’s services and help make a real difference. **Social Media Support Volunteers** help us to keep the local community up to date with the services that we offer, as well as helping to share information from other local and national organisations. We are looking for people with good IT skills, excellent communication skills and a broad knowledge of social media platforms, to include Facebook and Twitter. Barnardo’s Social Media & Digital Champions will be part of Barnardo's Portsmouth Special Education Needs and Disability Information and Advice Service (known as SENDIASS) who provide information, impartial advice and support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or a disability and their parents and carers. ### Why we want you Do you have a passion for all things digital? We are looking for Portsmouth-based social media and digital design gurus, ideally with some knowledge, understanding and experience of special educational needs, to help get Portsmouth SENDIASS on the digital map. ### What you will be doing #### Social media - Posting meaningful content relating to the service onto social media platforms - Sharing posts from other organisations on social media platforms - Assist in effectively monitoring social media platforms and helping to report insights to the team. #### Digital - Designing and maintaining our Padlets (digital information boards) - Using Canva, design on-brand content for use in presentations, on our website and on socials - If you have video skills, we would love to use those too to create webinars and short clips for families to access. You don’t need to be able to do all of the above (and it’s not an exhaustive list), but if any take your interest we’d love to hear from you.
Could you help support a service to manage their social media content? Monitoring a range of social media platforms, creating meaningful content, reporting on insights, and so on?
Tasks: Posting content relating to the service onto social media platforms.
Sharing posts from other organisations on social media platforms.
Assist in effectively monitoring social media platforms.
Assist in reporting social media insights to the team.
