We are seeking a dedicated and skilled takeaway packer/ assistant manager to join our culinary team. Bonus if willing to learn on the fryers and past experience in this. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced takeaway/kitchen environment. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and food safety, ensuring that every dish meets our standards of excellence. This position is perfect for individuals looking to enhance their culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Serve customers, work in a fast paced environment
- Assist in the planning and execution of daily menus, ensuring variety and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the takeaway area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and address any issues that arise during service.
- Help train new staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
- Lock up/ cash up
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food safety standards is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
