Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling pipe systems with precision and safety in mind. Duties
- Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on pipes, ensuring clean, strong, and precise welds for various materials and thicknesses
- Weld pipes according to welding standards, codes, and project specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble pipe components
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine proper welding procedures and measurements
- Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, or fitting pipe sections accurately before welding
- Conduct inspections of completed welds using visual checks and basic testing methods to ensure quality and adherence to safety standards
- Assist in the assembly of piping systems by fitting components together with mechanical knowledge of pipe layouts and configurations
Experience
- Proven experience in TIG welding, specifically on pipe systems in a fabrication or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, codes, and safety protocols
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in pipe welding projects
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations during assembly
- Experience working with sheet metal or similar materials is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics accurately
- Prior involvement in pipe fabrication or assembly projects demonstrating attention to detail and quality standards
