Overview and Responsibilities
A Human Resources (HR) Officer vacancy is available, to work in our Management Systems & Personnel department, at Odiham, Hampshire. This is a permanent, full time position, responsible for the HR functions, and responsibility for all Management Systems & Personnel duties shown in Company (Quality Control) manuals, plans, policies, and procedures. We are looking for an experienced HR Officer, who will be involved in all HR functions, e.g.:
- Provide a point of contact and support on all personnel (HR) related issues, for Palace International Ltd. UK, and other sites as may be requested.
- Provide management system and personnel support to other Companies in the group (as required).
- Deal with any staff/personnel issues.
- Carry out recruitment and induction of new workers.
- Ensure that Company policies follow statutory laws and regulations.
- Advise senior management on matters of salaries, redundancy, and employment law, and record and process staff confidential information.
Skills
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, motivated, with a willingness to learn, who are able to use their initiative, and think independently. The successful candidate:
- Should have knowledge of Employment Law.
- Should have experience as an HR Officer or similar HR role, with knowledge of various HR functions such as recruitment, pay/benefits, induction, evaluation, appraisals, and training/development etc.
- Should have Performance Management, Training Management, Project Management, Conflict Resolution, and People skills/experience.
- Should have experience of Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, Clients, Customers, and other external parties.
- Must be capable of making decisions which can have significant impact - the fact that these decisions are often made in circumstances where supporting information can be less than ideal, makes experience and sound judgement essential.
- Must be PC literate, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Should be educated to high standard in English, with good reporting, administrative, and letter writing skills.
- Should be prepared to work outside the standard working hours per week to ensure that operations are constantly supported.
Hours and Pay
The hours are Monday to Friday, nominally 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. The salary range is £40,000 pa to £45,000 pa, subject to skills, qualifications, and experience.
