CleanTech People are currently recruiting for an experienced Minute Taker to support Children, Young People and Families services in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and highly accurate administrator with strong minute-taking skills to work within a professional and sensitive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for taking accurate, non-verbatim minutes of child protection case conferences, statutory meetings and complex strategy meetings, ensuring high-quality records are produced within required timescales.
Key Responsibilities
Take accurate minutes of child protection and other statutory meetings.
Summarise complex discussions clearly and accurately.
Produce high-quality minutes within departmental deadlines.
Work alongside Independent Chairs to create and update written child protection plans.
Support the appropriate abridgement of information for young people and family members.
Accurately record meeting attendees and contact details.
Ensure sensitive information is handled securely.
Input meeting and minute information accurately onto IT systems.
Provide effective administrative and business support.
Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, customer experience and best practice.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals across the service.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous minute-taking or note-taking experience.
Strong administrative and office-based experience.
Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to identify significant information from complex discussions and produce a coherent written record.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to concentrate for extended periods during lengthy meetings.
Good Microsoft Office and web-based software skills.
Strong organisation and time-management skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A professional and sensitive approach when dealing with confidential and potentially distressing information.
Experience providing good customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
Experience within Children’s Services or a statutory environment.
Previous experience minuting child protection conferences or strategy meetings.
Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Understanding of Children, Young People and Families services.
Previous local authority experience.
Qualifications
GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience in business support.
Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
