We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Water team in Exeter, Bristol or Cardiff . ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Mechanical Engineer , you will support the delivery of mechanical design services across a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior engineers, Project Managers and other technical disciplines, you will contribute to the development of safe, efficient and sustainable engineering solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting mechanical design activities from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.
- Assisting with the production of mechanical calculations, technical specifications, schedules, reports and design documentation.
- Supporting the design of pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment works, pipelines and associated mechanical infrastructure.
- Undertaking site visits, surveys and technical investigations where required.
- Collaborating with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Working with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to help deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and wants to continue developing their technical expertise within a collaborative team.
You will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within mechanical engineering design, ideally within water or another regulated infrastructure sector.
- An understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience within the water, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of pumping systems, treatment processes or mechanical plant design.
- Experience producing technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institution.
