About The Carbon House
The Carbon House is a fast-growing business delivering large-scale domestic solar and battery installations through an innovative Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model.
We are building a national delivery platform and are looking for a Technical Solar Design & Delivery Manager to take ownership of the technical side of the programme.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for leading technical design, managing delivery quality, and overseeing a national pipeline of solar PV and battery installations.
You will act as the technical lead for the PPA programme, working across multiple installers to ensure projects are designed, approved, and delivered to a consistent, high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical delivery of the PPA pipeline from design through to commissioning
- Design and review domestic solar PV and battery systems
- Oversee and approve designs across a network of installers
- Ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across all projects
- Use PV*SOL to produce and validate system designs
- Manage DNO/grid applications (G98/G99) and approvals
- Define technical specifications (panels, inverters, batteries, mounting systems)
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes
- Review installer submissions for compliance and buildability
- Monitor system performance and support optimisation
- Support commercial teams with technical input on pricing and proposals
- Ensure compliance with:
- MCS standards
- UK electrical regulations
- Building regulations
- CDM Regulations 2015
- Attend site visits and technical meetings as required
Requirements
- Experience in domestic solar PV design and delivery
- Strong experience using PV*SOL
- Knowledge of G98 / G99 DNO processes
- Strong understanding of MCS standards and UK regulations
- Experience working with multiple installers or subcontractors
- Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015
- Ability to balance technical quality with commercial delivery
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
