At our home in Bournemouth we are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated team player to join us as a Care Assistant working flexibly as a bank employee on day shifts. The occasional night shift may be offered and the successful candidate would need the flexibility to cover 7am-2pm or 2pm-9m shifts. The focus of this role is to actively participate in and supervise the delivery of care to the residents to meet their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs and ensuring dignity, choice and independence are maintained at all times.
You’ll be responsible for the administration of medication alongside leading on the responsibility of residents individual care documentation ensuring a person centred approach at all times. You’ll work effectively with others within the home to ensure that residents needs are continuously met.
Additionally you’ll:
· Undertake responsibility within an area of work as delegated by the Home Manager.
· Be familiar with the administrative records of the Home and ensure that all records that you are responsible for are kept up to date.
· To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents/ emergencies e.g. fire, missing residents.
· Be aware of the security of the home and promote this within appropriate parameters as set out in risk management.
· To report and advise the relevant persons with respect to the repairs and maintenance of the home.
To be successful in this role you’ll have respect for diversity and individuality and a genuine interest in working with the elderly. The successful candidate will also need a minimum of 2 years experience working in the UK care industry. You’ll be able to communicate effectively at all levels as well as being outgoing and passionate about your role. You’ll be fully computer literate and have experience the the Safe Handling of Medicines.
