Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed, ro-ro and chain skip lorries to deliver and collect goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and excellent driving skills. The driver will play a vital part in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries for local and national deliveries
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including adherence to driving regulations and company policies
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, demonstrating flexibility in duties
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed vehicles
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving flatbed, chain skip and ro-ro lorries, with knowledge of securing loads safely
- Familiarity with UK road networks and route planning software is advantageous
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling
Pay: £36,000.00 per year
