Join a growing SME with real structure and focus as they seek an experienced Production Manager to lead their manufacturing operations.
Are you a Production Manager who enjoys developing people, improving performance and creating a genuinely strong manufacturing culture?
I am recruiting for a company which I would highly vouch for, an SME who are growing consistently and with real structure and focus. They are now looking for a Production Manager who can oversee and manage the 3 shift patterns they have. This is a flexible 40 hour per week role where you will be able to manage your own time and diary.
This is a key leadership position. You'll lead and develop the Shift Management team, giving them the structure, coaching and accountability they need to get the best from their teams. Alongside delivering the production plan, you'll have a real focus on people, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
The role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the manufacturing operation, including:
- Leading, coaching and developing Shift Managers and their production teams
- Driving performance across safety, quality, labour efficiency, productivity, waste, OEE and plan attainment
- Building a positive culture of accountability, communication and employee engagement
- Ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required service levels
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, GMP and operational compliance
- Taking a proactive approach to health & safety and employee wellbeing
- Identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities
- Managing performance, absence and employee relations issues when required
- Working closely with Planning, Engineering, Technical, HR, Warehouse and Supply Chain
- Ensuring consistency and effective communication across all shifts
What we're looking for
You'll already have experience operating at Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or senior operational leadership level within food manufacturing.
You'll also bring:
- Strong people leadership experience, ideally managing managers as well as larger production teams
- A track record of improving manufacturing KPIs and operational performance
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality and GMP standards
- Experience driving a positive health & safety culture
- Confidence managing performance and employee relations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different functions
- Experience within a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment
Experience within chilled, fresh or short shelf-life food manufacturing would be particularly advantageous, as would exposure to Lean, CI or TPM methodologies.
Interested?
This could be a great opportunity for an experienced food manufacturing leader who enjoys being close to the operation while developing the management team beneath them.
