We are a family based in Hampshire looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant for our 8 year old son, who has a disability and receives support through Direct Payments.
About the role
This is a really lovely opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child’s life. You will support our son to get out and about in the community, enjoy activities and days out, develop his social skills and confidence, and assist with personal care when needed. The hours are 4 per week on a weekend, and we are flexible on the exact day and time to suit the right candidate.
Our son is verbal and has a brilliant, curious mind. He loves dinosaurs, space and interesting facts, so if you share any of those interests you will get on famously!
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is kind, patient and fun, and who will take the time to get to know our son as an individual. You do not need a formal qualification, but some experience of working or volunteering with children or people with disabilities would be great. A full UK driving licence is preferred but access to your own vehicle is not essential.
You will need to be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to starting.
