Care Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes each resident's dignity, independence, rights, and wellbeing. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Care Assistant supports residents with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, continence care, nutrition and hydration, mobility, moving and handling, social engagement, and emotional wellbeing. They encourage residents to maintain as much independence as possible while respecting individual choices, preferences, beliefs, and cultural needs. Care Assistants observe and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health, monitor skin integrity, support with healthcare appointments where required, and assist with medication where appropriately trained and authorised, always ensuring care is delivered safely and in accordance with individual care plans.
Care Assistants are responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential records, following safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety, and moving and handling procedures, and reporting any concerns, accidents, incidents, or hazards promptly. They work collaboratively with colleagues, residents, families, and healthcare professionals to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care while maintaining professional standards at all times. The role requires excellent communication skills, a caring and respectful attitude, reliability, and a commitment to ongoing learning through mandatory training, supervision, and professional development. Care Assistants are expected to uphold the values of dignity, respect, compassion, and person-centred care in line with current legislation, organisational policies, and regulatory standards.
Pay: £12.71-£12.90 per hour
