Location: Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog
Salary: Grade 1 £13.26 per hour Cleaning 12.50hrs Grade 2 £13.69 Caretaker, 2.50 hrs
Total Hours: 15 hrs 05:30 – 08:30am
Permanent – 42 weeks per year
We are looking for a new team member to join Cleaning Services working in Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog.
We continually invest in the development of our staff with training leading to qualifications in equipment, health and safety and cleaning procedures to BICSc standards. No experience necessary but we ask that applicants share our commitment to customer service and a vision of a cleaner Denbighshire.

CLEANER
Job Purpose
To provide an efficient building cleaning service at Denbighshire County Council sites.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Perform cleaning tasks to a satisfactory standard as per the site cleaning specification and frequencies
Ensure all lights are extinguishes and windows secured on completion of cleaning operation
Ensure safe working practices and adhered to at all times in particular those relating to the use of machinery and chemical substances
Report defective equipment immediately to the appropriate supervisor
Order and receive cleaning materials as required
Maintain cleaning store rooms in a clean and tidy condition
Complete signing in and out each day
Be properly attired at all times

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
An experienced cleaning operative with knowledge of general cleaning and the ability to perform tasks as instructed by immediate supervisor
Special Working Conditions
Moderae exposure to cleaning chemicals (controlled under COSHH regulations)

CARETAKER
Job Purpose
To provide an effective and efficient onsite service. Ensuring the security of the building and the surrounding areas also to operate the heating and lighting of the premises and cleaning inside and outside the building.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Ensure the buildings are opened at the beginning of the day and made secure at the night.
Undertake any cleaning duties as required.
Ensure site safety through the monitoring and operation of intruder and fire alarms, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate person.
To attend the building as necessary outside normal working hours in cases of alarm activation or other emergencies.
Ensure the efficient removal of waste from the building and the grounds, including recycling.
To maintain the building and surrounding area in a clean and tidy condition, will include snow clearing/gritting as and when appropriate.
Ensuring adequate stock of toiletries and distributing as and when required.

Products and equipment will be provided by your Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
Good numeracy and literacy skills.
Previous building security experience.
Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
Excellent organisation skills.
Good communication skills.
Special Working Conditions
Possibilty of working with hazardous substances (cleaning sprays etc).
Possible exposure to wet/cold weather.
