SSG Sports & Activities is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Gymnastics Leader to join our growing gymnastics programme.
We are passionate about creating fun, engaging and inclusive gymnastics experiences where children can build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy being active. We are seeking someone who shares this passion and can deliver high-quality recreational gymnastics sessions in a supportive environment.
About the Role
As an Advanced Gymnastics Leader, you will deliver engaging gymnastics sessions for children aged 18 months to 12 years, supporting participants from their first steps in gymnastics through to developing their skills and confidence.
You will lead beginner and recreational classes, creating a positive learning environment where every child feels encouraged, supported and able to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, structured and engaging gymnastics sessions for children aged 18 months–12 years.
- Lead recreational gymnastics classes for beginner and developing participants.
- Adapt activities to meet different ages, abilities and confidence levels.
- Encourage children’s confidence, coordination, movement skills and enjoyment of gymnastics.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all participants.
- Ensure sessions are delivered safely and in line with safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
- Support children’s individual progression and celebrate their achievements.
- Maintain high coaching standards and assist with equipment and session preparation.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Act as a positive role model and ambassador for SSG Sports & Activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about gymnastics and enjoys helping children learn, develop and achieve.
Essential:
- Experience coaching or instructing gymnastics with children.
- Experience delivering beginner and recreational gymnastics sessions.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to create fun, engaging and safe learning experiences.
- Reliable, professional and enthusiastic approach.
Desirable:
- British Gymnastics or equivalent gymnastics coaching qualification.
- Experience delivering preschool gymnastics sessions (18 months+).
- First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior coaches.
