Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Plant Fitter to join our team. In this role, you ill maintain, service and repair a diverse fleet of modern heavy construction machinery, including CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi excavators; Thwaites dumpers; Bomag rollers; forklifts, tractors, telehandlers; Volvo, CAT and Komatsu wheeled loading shovvels; CAT dozers; and CAT and Volvo ADTs. Whether diagnosing complex faults or conducting routine maintenance, your work wil keep our projects moving safetly and efficiently.
What You Will Do
- Service and Maintain: Run routine and preventative servicing on heavy plant equipment to maximize fleet reliatbility
- Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
- Inspect and Test: Conduct thorough safety checks and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) before equipment hits the site.
- Respond and Fix: Tackle unexpected breakdowns swiftly to minimize machine downtime.
- Keep Records: Document all repairs, parts used, and servicing schedules accurately.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven Experience: solid background working as a Plant Fitter, Heavy Mechanic, or Agricultural/HGV Engineer.
- Qualifications: NVQ Leve 2/3 or City and Guilds in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is preferable.
- Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic abilities across hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Essentials: A full UK driving licence (a valid CSCS card is helpful but not necessrary).
- Mindset: A safety-first approach with excellent problem-solving skills, a team-player and solution focussed.
