Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit casual Labourer to join our decking company. The successful candidate will assist with various construction tasks, supporting skilled tradespeople to ensure the smooth progress of projects. This role offers valuable experience in the construction industry and is suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills across multiple trades. The position is paid and involves working on-site in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality decking installations. Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence, be able to get to and from various locations in London and the surrounding areas, be flexible on working hours, and may suit part-time work. Ideally applicants will live around the north Kent area.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of building sites, including loading and unloading materials.
- Support tradespeople in their tasks, including handling hand tools and power tools.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling decking components according to project specifications.
- Help with site safety measures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support with general construction activities.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment by clearing debris and ensuring tools are stored safely.
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with construction.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate measurements and assembly.
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills, individuals interested in developing a career in construction, especially decking installation. Applicants should be prepared for physically demanding work in outdoor environments and demonstrate a proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork.
Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
