The Kings Head is set in the historic sailing town of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Over the past few years we have built an excellent reputation for producing fresh, seasonal dishes using the best produce from Island suppliers.
We are currently recruiting for a new head chef to lead our kitchen team.
The successful applicant will have a passion for working with seasonal, fresh produce in an often fast paced environment. Reporting to the manager and director you will have overall responsibility for the kitchen operations with a hands-on approach to developing menus ideas, managing staff, working to financial targets and maintaining high standards of food production
This position would suit someone who has previously worked in a restaurant or good quality pub environment.
What we need from you:
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
* An eye for detail and maintaining high standards with a 'hands on' approach
* Organisational, written and verbal skills
* Competence to manage food purchasing, order and control stock
* Ability to follow Company daily routine procedures, adhere to legal requirements but also use your own initiative
* Show good understanding of product cost, budgets and GP calculations
* Acknowledgement of the need to workday/evening shifts, weekends and bank/school holidays
