We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and motivated Assistant Manager to support the day to day running of Swole Gym. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for fitness, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the gym operates efficiently, our members receive an exceptional experience and our team continues to perform at its best.
Key Responsibilities
As our Assistant Manager, you will:
- Support the General Manager with the daily operation of the gym.
- Lead, motivate and supervise the gym team to maintain high standards of service and professionalism.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing staff development.
- Help prepare staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Ensure the gym is clean, safe, welcoming and fully operational at all times.
- Drive membership sales, renewals and retention through excellent customer engagement.
- Welcome members and prospective members, providing outstanding customer service and support.
- Handle member enquiries, feedback and complaints in a professional and positive manner.
- Support gym events, challenges, promotions and community engagement activities.
- Carry out regular facility inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Help maintain compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Monitor operational performance and provide feedback to the General Manager.
- Act as Duty Manager and take responsibility for the gym in the General Manager's absence.
- Build positive relationships with members, staff, suppliers and contractors.
- Contribute to the continued success and growth of Swole Gym.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, or management role (fitness industry experience is desirable but not essential).
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Is confident leading and motivating a team.
- Has strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Can remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- Is proactive, reliable and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and shifts as required.
- Has a genuine passion for health, fitness and helping people achieve their goals.
