Strawbury Stays is looking for a reliable and experienced multi-skilled handyman to maintain and prepare our serviced accommodation properties across Greater Manchester.
This is a varied role combining practical maintenance, new-property setup and regular quality inspections. We need someone who takes pride in their work, notices small problems before they become larger ones and can be trusted to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete painting and decorating work
* Carry out basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing taps and resolving minor drainage issues
* Perform basic joinery, furniture repairs and adjustments
* Assemble furniture, mount televisions, shelves, mirrors and other fittings
* Help set up and prepare new serviced accommodation properties
* Complete snagging lists and ensure properties are guest-ready
* Visit properties weekly or monthly to conduct quality and maintenance inspections
* Check properties against our serviced accommodation standards
* Identify damage, maintenance concerns, missing items and areas requiring improvement
* Submit inspection photographs and clear reports after each visit
* Coordinate with cleaners, property managers and specialist contractors when required
* Purchase or collect maintenance materials and replacement items where necessary
* Respond to urgent maintenance issues, subject to availability
The Ideal Candidate
* Has practical experience across painting, basic plumbing, joinery and general property maintenance
* Produces clean, professional-quality work
* Is reliable, punctual and able to manage jobs independently
* Has strong attention to detail and can confidently inspect property standards
* Communicates clearly and provides regular progress updates
* Is comfortable using WhatsApp, photographs and digital checklists
* Is respectful when working around guests, landlords and other contractors
* Has a full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
* Has their own basic tools
* Has the legal right to work in the UK
Experience with serviced accommodation, hotels, HMOs, rental properties or property inspections would be an advantage.
Specialist gas and electrical work will be handled only by appropriately qualified contractors.
