Assistant Dance Teacher
As an Assistant Dance Teacher, you will support our lead teachers in delivering engaging, structured, and enjoyable dance classes while helping to create a positive learning environment for every student.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers during classes across a range of dance styles.
- Support students during lessons by providing encouragement and individual guidance where appropriate.
- Help prepare classrooms and equipment before and after lessons.
- Assist with student arrival, registration, and dismissal.
- Help organise students for performances, showcases, competitions, and examinations.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with reception duties when required, including handling customer payments professionally and discreetly.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support events, workshops, and studio activities.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience assisting or teaching dance classes is preferred but not essential.
- Passionate about working with children and helping them develop confidence through dance.
- Friendly, organised, reliable, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of multiple dance styles is advantageous.
- Knowledge or proficiency in the Vaganova ballet technique is a significant advantage, although it is not essential.
Dance Teacher
As a Dance Teacher, you will lead inspiring, engaging, and technically sound classes while encouraging students of all ages and abilities to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality dance classes across one or more dance genres.
- Deliver engaging, educational, and enjoyable lessons tailored to students' abilities.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique, artistry, and performance.
- Prepare students for examinations, recitals, competitions, showcases, and other performances.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to plan events, workshops, and studio initiatives.
- Stay up to date with current teaching practices, dance trends, and professional development.
- Assist with student arrival and dismissal where required.
- Handle customer payments professionally and discreetly when necessary.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience teaching dance is preferred.
- Ability to teach one or more dance styles such as ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, commercial, hip-hop, lyrical, or acro.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Experience in choreography and performance is desirable.
- A recognised dance teaching qualification is beneficial but not essential for candidates with strong practical experience.
- Knowledge or proficiency in the Vaganova ballet technique is a significant advantage, although it is not essential.
