We are seeking a Cleaning Operative (Rail Depot) to work within an industrial rail depot environment, responsible for cleaning walkways, pits and associated site facilities within NTL train repair and maintenance buildings.
The role requires strict adherence to site procedures, particularly around safety, equipment use and compliance with NTL standards.
The successful candidate will attend and comply with the NTL Site Safety Induction programme and carry out industrial cleaning tasks using the correct methods, materials and equipment, ensuring all duties are completed safely, efficiently and in line with health and safety and personal hygiene legislation.
The Role
- Clean walkways, pits and associated facilities within NTL train repair and maintenance buildings
- Operate pedestrian scrubber driers and pressure washing equipment where trained and certified
- Carry out pit cleaning (pressure washing) in line with NTL local OHL isolation procedures
- Comply fully with health & safety legislation and site-specific safety requirements at all times
- Follow instructions from NTL Site Management, ISS Team Leaders, Supervisors and Line Management
- Use the correct cleaning methods, materials, equipment and chemicals, ensuring proper storage after use
- Report faulty or damaged equipment to the ISS Depot Facilities Supervisor
- Respond to emergency situations and report accidents, incidents and hazards in line with site procedures
About You
- Ability to work within an industrial environment following strict safety procedures
- Certified or trained in the use of cleaning equipment such as scrubber driers and pressure washers (as required)
- Understanding of health & safety and personal hygiene requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with site management direction
- Good teamwork and communication skills to maintain effective working relationships
- Reliable and professional approach, including maintaining uniform standards and ID compliance
- Willingness to attend training as required by management
